Frequently asked questions.

ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS ABOUT TELEHEALTH SERVICES FOR ADULTS IN KANSAS

Do you offer online therapy in Kansas?

Yes. I provide online therapy in Kansas for adults statewide through secure telehealth. As long as you are physically located in Kansas at the time of your session, we can work together virtually.

What issues do you specialize in?

I specialize in working with adults who feel anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally exhausted — especially those who identify as high-achieving, sensitive, or deeply attuned to others. Many of my clients seek support for anxiety, perfectionism and burnout, and people-pleasing or high sensitivity.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people reach out because they feel stuck in patterns of overthinking, self-criticism, or caretaking others at the expense of themselves. If you’re feeling anxious, burned out, or disconnected from yourself, therapy can help you slow down, understand what’s happening internally, and create meaningful change

What is your approach to therapy?

My approach is warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental. I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, and trauma-informed care to help clients understand the different “parts” of themselves — such as the part that overthinks, people-pleases, or strives to be perfect.

Do you work with anxiety even if I don’t have panic attacks?

Absolutely. Anxiety often shows up as chronic worry, mental looping, muscle tension, difficulty resting, or feeling “on edge” much of the time. Anxiety therapy isn’t just about managing symptoms — it’s about helping your nervous system feel safer and more regulated.

I’m high-functioning — can therapy still help me?

Yes. Many of my clients appear calm, capable, and successful on the outside, while feeling overwhelmed or self-critical on the inside. Therapy for perfectionism and burnout helps high-functioning adults reduce internal pressure without losing motivation or ambition.

What if I’m a people-pleaser or highly sensitive?

Highly sensitive and empathic people often struggle with boundaries, guilt, and emotional exhaustion. Therapy for people-pleasers and highly sensitive adults focuses on helping you stay connected to others without losing yourself.

What can I expect in a first session?

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and talk about what brings you to therapy. There’s no pressure to share everything at once. We’ll go at a pace that feels comfortable and focus on helping you feel supported and understood.

what are your rates?

$180 for 50-minute therapy session

Do you accept insurance?

I an in-network with BCBS of KS. For all other insurance panels, I am an out-of-network provider. Some insurance plans will provide out-of-network coverage.

Should you wish to use an insurance policy for therapy, it is your responsibility to contact your insurance company to inquire about specific coverage for out-of-network benefits for mental health services. I cannot guarantee that your insurance company will reimburse you.

Please note that most insurance companies require the treating provider to give a psychiatric diagnosis in order to reimburse for mental health counseling. I can provide a superbill for you to mail to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Any diagnosis made will become part of your permanent insurance records.

Is doing therapy online confidential?

Yes, we will use an HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform that can be easily accessed through your client portal. This is completely safe and confidential. Your privacy and safety is of the upmost important to me.

can i schedule online?

Yes, you can find my online schedule here.

You can book a free 15 minute phone consultation here.

how often will we meet?

I recommend we meet weekly at the beginning of our work together but it ultimately depends on your availability and your readiness to dive in. If we are meeting less than once a week, it will be difficult to create long lasting change as much of the work we will do requires a level of depth and trust that can only be cultivated by meeting at least once a week.

what happens if there is a technical issue?

I understand that technology can fail us sometimes. If we are unable to meet due to technical issues, we will work together to reschedule. If it is a recurring issue, I will treat this as a no-show or late cancellation and you will be financially responsible for the session.
